When you check in, you will be provided with your onsite packet, which includes a schedule of events, your observer’s packet, door prize ticket, shower & meal tickets, along with any pre-ordered items. Be sure you hang on to your door prize tickets because you will need them to claim your door prize.

Please check in at the Registration Tent for updates on camping and parking restrictions before setting up camp. If the Registration Tent is closed, look for further instructions posted outside the Registration Tent. Someone will be available to help you at the OSP registration tent between 10am and 8pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 10am until 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Those arriving after 8pm should plan on spending their first night parked along NFS road 800. (see Onsite Map for Late Arrival Area.) Signs will mark the furthest point west you may drive after sunset. The road into the main area will be blocked and you are asked to camp in the late night arrival area at the entry near the registration tent. The road will reopen at 10am in the morning.

The Forest Service requires that camping be limited to the areas along the tree line on the north side of the 800 road, or along the graveled parts of Forest Service roads 800 & 802. All vehicles parked along the 800 and 802 road must be parked within 100 feet of the roads. Double parking of passenger vehicles along the 802 road is encouraged when possible to accommodate more parking spots in this area. You can set up a tent in the viewing field and camp in it, but you cannot park your car in the viewing field, your car must be within 100 feet of the graveled roadway or along the 802 spurs.

If you camp along the north tree line, your vehicle must be left at your campsite throughout your stay to minimize off road trips. Do not camp or drive into the tree line along the south side of the 800 road. Do not camp or park vehicles in other open areas away from the tree lines or the 800 & 802 roads, though you may drive your passenger vehicle out into these areas to unload your equipment. As soon as you are unloaded, please move the vehicle to a suitable parking spot along the roads.

Those that plan to make any daily trips out for supplies or to explore the area need to park their vehicles along the graveled 800 and 802 roads, preferably at the east end of the 800 road near the registration tent. This keeps our impact on the environment to a bare minimum.

All RV’s other than tent trailers, van conversions, or pick-up campers must be within 100 feet of the 800 or 802 roads to just beyond the gravel circle (watch for the signs).
